Two dead after three-vehicle crash near Peterborough
Two people have died after a crash involving three cars near Peterborough.
It happened on the A16, between the city and Newborough, at about 15:30 BST on Monday.
A woman in her 70s, from Buckinghamshire, and a man in his 50s, from Peterborough, were both pronounced dead at the scene, while a man in his 70s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police have appealed for witnesses.
Police said a blue Volvo V40 was heading north towards Newborough when it collided with a brown Toyota Prius going in the opposite direction, near the "blue bridge".
The brown Prius then collided with a red Ford Kuga travelling north.
A passenger in the Volvo, a woman in her 70s from Amersham, and the driver of the Prius, a man in his 50s, both died.
The driver of the Volvo, a man in his 70s, also from Amersham, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries.
The Kuga driver, a man in his 60s, from Liverpool, had minor injuries.
Det Insp Garry Webb, from Cambridgeshire Police, said: "I would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage of the collision which could help us piece together what happened in the moments leading up to the crash."
