Man killed in Long Beach crash

A man is dead after being struck by a vehicle while he was riding an electric scooter.

The incident occurred around 6:27 a.m. Saturday, near the intersection of Ximeno Avenue and Shaw Street in Long Beach.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they found the male victim suffering from serious injuries to his upper body. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say the female who was driving the vehicle involved in the crash was traveling southbound on Ximeno Avenue. Detectives believe the male victim missed a stop sign while riding the scooter just before the collision occurred.
