Labour announces Gavin Williamson rival

A former headteacher has been selected to stand as Labour’s candidate in the new seat of Stone, Great Wyrley and Penkridge at the general election.
Jacqueline Brown, who is currently a Newcastle-under-Lyme borough councillor for Silverdale, was born in Derbyshire and trained as a teacher in Stafford.
She now runs an educational consultancy business, having previously been headteacher at Grange Nursery School in Meir.
The Stone constituency - which is held by retiring MP Sir Bill Cash under its current boundaries - will also be contested by Conservative candidate Sir Gavin Williamson.
Former cabinet minister Sir Gavin has been MP for South Staffordshire since 2010.
Ms Brown said she would campaign for more GP and dentist appointments, and added she wanted to use her experience as a teacher to break down barriers in life for young people.
She said: “I am delighted to be selected as the candidate to provide a fresh start in the market towns and villages of Stone, Great Wyrley and Penkridge.”
