Sarah Palin will travel to Iowa for film premiere

Sarah Palin is headed to Iowa.

The former Alaska governor and her husband, Todd, will attend Tuesday night's premiere of "The Undefeated," a feature-length documentary about Palin's time in office and rise on the national political scene.

As The Ticket previously reported, the film was directed by conservative filmmaker Stephen Bannon, whom Palin aides approached in the aftermath of November's midterm elections about making a series of videos about the ex-governor's legislative record.

Bannon agreed--but turned the film into a longer documentary, financing the project himself and retaining editorial control. The film is set to premiere tomorrow at the Opera House in Pella, a heavily Republican city about an hour southeast of Des Moines, before the documentary expands into national distribution.

It's Palin's first visit to Iowa in roughly seven months. She last visited the state in November for a book signing. The trip comes amid speculation about whether Palin will launch a bid for the 2012 GOP nomination.

"We are very excited to visit historic Pella and its opera house and look forward to seeing the finished film for the first time with fellow Americans from the heartland," Palin said in a statement Saturday.
