Palin says she still hasn’t decided about 2012, contrary to what her daughter says

Sarah Palin insists she is still deciding whether she'll run for president in 2012, contrary to what her daughter, Bristol, said in an interview Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters at last night's Iowa premiere of "The Undefeated," a documentary about her political career, Palin said she had texted her daughter after hearing about Bristol's interview with Fox & Friends, in which she claimed her mother had "definitely" decided whether or not she'll run in 2012.

Per GOP 12, Palin said last night her daughter told her the comments were "taken out of context."

"I said, 'You remember, Bristol, what we talk about on the fishing boat stays on the fishing boat,'" Palin told reporters. "So I don't know what she said, but I'm still thinking about the decision, and a lot goes into such a life-changing, relatively earth-shattering type of decision."

Palin kept a relatively low profile during her visit to Iowa yesterday. Contrary to earlier reports she planned to meet with GOP activists, she and her husband, Todd, ended up having lunch with just one: Becky Beach, a longtime GOP donor in the state.

But Beach tells the Des Moines Register's Jennifer Jacobs that politics didn't come up during her sitdown with the Palins at a Panera Bread outside Des Moines. Rather, they talked about the weather, the Iowa State Fair and Beach's dog.

"She just wanted to eat lunch and eat at a place where regular Iowans eat," Beach said, adding she didn't ask Palin about her 2012 intentions. "Fundraising didn't come up."
